We value recognition and accreditation for numerous reasons. Firstly, international recognition helps facilitate worldwide networking opportunities for our students, alumni, and faculty. Accreditation is also an outward reflection of our internal commitment to create programs that are innovative, scholarly, and interdisciplinary. But mostly, achieving accreditation is a testament to ensure that we will always increase the value of your BU degree.


Boston University has become the most recent member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), an elite organization of 62 leading research universities in the United States and Canada, founded in 1900. BU is the fourth university to be invited into the AAU since 2000, joining Boston’s Harvard, MIT, and Brandeis.


Boston University is an accredited member of AACSB International―the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.


The graduate management programs are accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Program Accreditation System (EPAS). This makes BU one of only two universities in the United States to hold this exceptional European accreditation.


Boston University is proud to be a member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), one of six regional accrediting organizations in the United States.


The Master of Science in Project Management online program is accredited by the Project Management Institute’s Global Accreditation Center (GAC) for Project Management. PMI® is the leading membership association for the project management profession.
